It all started with a groundhog.
After Punxsutawney Phil promised six more weeks of winter, Fritz Rahr decided to bribe the ‘weather gods’ into delivering sunny, blue skies by releasing our spring seasonal, Bucking Bock, early.
That didn’t work out so well.
It looks as if Mother Nature herself reached right into our brewery in an attempt to get her own free sample of Bucking Bock.
We are currently roofless and, as a result, operations are completely down. The good news is that we’re really good at weathering difficulties (pun completely intended) and we’ll be back up-n-running in no time.
We don’t have a solid timeline yet, since we’re still assessing the damage – but we will be producing beer as soon as possible (weather gods and Mother Nature willing).
We are grateful beyond words that no one was in the brewery when this happened. We lost some beer, but everyone is safe and that’s all that matters.
People are asking what they can do to help – and as much as we would love to have a good old fashioned roof-raising, we live in a day and age when that’s just not possible.
But you CAN help by continuing to support us (i.e. picking up a 6-pack or two) and being patient if Rahr shelves at stores and taps in bars sit empty for a few weeks as we get production going again.
We will keep this website and our facebook page (www.facebook.com/rahrbrewing) updated with new information as often as possible.
We are thankful to each of you for your kind words and willingness to help – and we look forward to repaying these gestures of good will with award-winning beer very, very soon.
Prosit!
The family and staff at Rahr & Sons Brewing Co.
